I'm not talking about Disney. I'm talking about what must adorn the walls of the Florida State Bar Advertising Committee's meeting room.
Remember, this is the state that banned Pit Bulls from ads.
According the the Florida Bar News, the Florida Bar Board of Governors just reversed a staff opinion that an image of a panther could not be used.
That's right.. Can you imagine this meeting going on with your Florida Bar dues (or more likely, the outrageous fees the Florida State Bar charges to "review" advertising)?
Member 1: "Well we barred pitbulls, now someone one wants to use a panther."
Member 2: "I saw a panther once..he looked mean"
Member 3: "I remember Pink Panther... he was funny"
Member 1: "Remind me why we banned pitbulls."
Member 3: "Bad image for lawyers"
Member 2: "Should we do a survey for panthers?"
Member 3: "Nah: just vote"--all in favor of an arbitrary and capricious decision APPROVING the use of panthers in ads run in Florida, say ay."
OK: "Panthers are approved"
That's not all, next up: the sounds of seagulls.
