Alexandria Virginia attorney Ben DiMuro has drafted a really well stated comment that opposes Virginia's proposed new legal ethics opinion.
The Virginia legal ethics committee, as DiMuro points out, makes this leap that because a lawyer advertising website program limits the number of members or is even area exclusive, this must be a prohibited "referral" to a lawyer.

Its really silly and the proposed Virginia opinion makes a huge leap that's not based on reason (just a "feeling" as they say.)

Anyway, Ben DiMuro's comment is a must read for a refresher course on lawyer advertising, the First Amendment and commericial speech.
